09-06-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

September 6, 2017
Jesus stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her.  She got up immediately and waited on them.   Lk_4:38-44

Maybe that’s why we suffer so much today, beloved.  We just don’t rebuke enough.  Everything has to be “feel good.”  And if it’s not, we’ll either get sued, shot, ignored or slandered.  Maybe that’s why we’ve lost respect, not only in our own families, but as a nation.  We’ve lost control because nobody is in charge.  And when someone tries to take charge, well, we’ll eat him up and spit him out because that doesn’t feel good either.  Jesus rebuked the fever, rebuked the demons, rebuked even his disciples when they allowed Satan to take over their thoughts.  Be gone, nasty rebels!  And the rest of us, let’s allow God back in control where He belongs!  He’s just waiting for us!
