(23rd Sunday, Ordinary Time, A)
Thus says the LORD: (to the Prophet Ezekiel) You, son of man, I have appointed watchman for the house of Israel; when you hear me say anything, you shall warn them for me. If I tell the wicked, “O wicked one, you shall surely die, ” and you do not speak out to dissuade the wicked from his way, the wicked shall die for his guilt,
but I will hold you responsible for his death. Ez 33:7-9
Now those are some pretty scary instructions! WE are responsible for – NOT converting them, but informing them of their errors. I don’t know about you, beloved, but telling someone they shouldn’t be doing or thinking something, is not something I’m real fond of. But, you know what? If we really love them, we WILL! Only BECAUSE we love them. In the end, it’s always their choice, but God says to Ezekiel later on that IF he did tell them, he would no longer be held responsible for their demise. Though we keep on praying for their souls.

Our Father’s Priests
Sorry for delay in getting today’s reflection in. I’ve been overwrought with concern and prayer over the devastation occurring in Florida today, as my sister and her family are still there in the midst of hurricane Irma. Please pray for them and all who are living there . . .
