06-22-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

June 22, 2018
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.  Mt_6:19-23

Well, maybe we’re not looking for treasures, but just a break from our suffering.  Maybe we just don’t have the resources to store up anything, but are just trying to live life day-to-day.  Maybe our hearts are simply seeking survival in a world that’s turned colder than ice.  Where we are afraid that even a look may be construed as something it was never meant to be, let along be cared about by others.

Take heart beloved!  There still are good people out there.  People who understand the moral compass and follow it.  People who can discern the difference between truth and deceit.  People who love as Jesus loved.  If we are those people, then take heart, for we actually ARE the treasure so many others are seeking.  And we couldn’t be so, without our 100% trust in Jesus!  Now it’s time to shine those lights and change the world!
