01-14-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

January 14, 2019
Brothers and sisters: In times past, God spoke in partial and various ways to our ancestors through the prophets; in these last days, he spoke to us through the Son, whom he made heir of all things and through whom he created the universe, ‘who is the refulgence of his glory, the very imprint of his being, and who sustains all things by his mighty word.’  Heb_1:1-6

REFULGENCE – derives from Latin “refulgēre,” which means “to shine brightly” and which is itself a descendant of the verb “fulgēre,” meaning “to shine.”  “Fulgēre” also underlies “effulgence,” a shining synonym of “refulgence.” (Merriam-Webster)

Jesus IS the brightly shining Glory of God.  More than the Morning Star, more than the brightness of the moon, more like the Sun at noon.  Too bright to peer into.  To bright to stare at.  Jesus is not just the perfection of the Father, He is part of us too!  And He IS our reason for life and our salvation for eternity.  Trust in Him, beloved, and He will guide you into ALL that is Good!
