06-27-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

June 27, 2019
Jesus said to his disciples: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name?  Did we not drive out demons in your name?  Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.’  “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.” Mt_7:21-29

The question is, beloved, how are we utilizing the Gifts God has given us – our time and money and talents?  Are we spending them on the “show” of what we think God wants us to do, and internally, actually doing them for our own benefit?  Or are we spending them, using them, offering them out of our love for others?  God knows the difference!  And what our message is – is to LOVE first, then act on that love.  Only then will we hear that most awesome of responses, “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”  Only then, will our house (our lives) be built on rock!
