05-11-20 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me.  Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”   Jn_14:21-26

Imagine a well on top of a green grassed hill, in the middle of a hot, dry, dusty desert. It would just be – so hard to believe.  After hundreds of miles of nothing but sand and sun, there it was, WATER!  My camels and my family and I can live another day!

He told me that if I followed His directions it would be!  And there it is!  And what were those directions?  To unwaveringly believe in Him.  To love like no one ever loved me – at least that I knew of.  And to obey every direction, no matter how crazy it may have seemed.

This I did.  And it never seemed to come.  The heat, the bugs, the snakes, the virus, “downsizing,” “social distancing,” it was all evil in His book.  But He promised!  And like the humble fool that I am, I did, I obediently followed – EVERY direction.  Every valley of sand, every mountain of sand, nothing but sand.  And yet, I knew there had to be more.  This vision was really good, but there had to be even more! He Promised!

Maybe if I took just a short break there at that well.  Maybe if I peered deep into that hole.  Maybe if I truly believed, and crossed One – More – Hill.  There it would be, paradise.  “The Father is in the Son and the Son is in the Father” He said.  He really is there, deep in that well!  Look and Know, beloved, just one more hill . . .

. . . to paradise!

Believe, beloved!
Obey!
And never give up!
