07-28-22 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

Jesus said to the disciples: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. When it is full they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away. Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.” Mt_13:47-53

The ‘good and the bad fish,’ the ‘wheat and the weeds,’ all together.  The ‘rain which falls on the good and the bad alike.’  Within this melting pot we call life, beloved, somehow we need to learn how to live together despite our differences, despite obvious wrongdoings, despite injustice.  And know in our heart of hearts that God’s justice will prevail.  Jesus tells us so!  And Jesus doesn’t lie.  We just want to make sure we’re on that ‘good side’ when the angels of judgment appear.  And for that, we pray to the Lord!  Jesus, save us from ourselves!
