Jesus said to his disciples: “When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one to him as well. If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.” Mt_5:38-42
The joy of poverty. They have nothing to steal from you. They have nothing to borrow from you, to never be paid back. They have nothing to be jealous of, save for the joy in your heart. And when they insist on finding that, we have Jesus to share with them. They can’t take Him away from us! And when they find Him, they find too, the joy of poverty, the joy of needing nothing and having everything, the joy of His Love in their hearts.
