(Passion of St. John the Baptist)
O LORD, you have probed me and you know me; you know when I sit and when I stand; you understand my thoughts from afar. My journeys and my rest you scrutinize, with all my ways you are familiar. Ps_139
God knew the atrocities of Herod. God knew the righteousness of John the Baptist. God understood the life John gave to try to save Herod. God know us as well, beloved. He knows our thoughts from afar. He knows our hidden likes and dislikes. He knows our righteousness and our sinfulness. When we ponder this fact, beloved, it helps us to try all the more to make those thoughts and actions be on the righteous side and not the side of sin. Always remember the Lord is with us, in our standing and in our sitting, in our dreaming and in our giving. God Knows . . . all! And God wants nothing more for us than LOVE!
