(St. Nicholas, Bishop)
At that time: Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, went up on the mountain, and sat down there. Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them. The crowds were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the deformed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind able to see, and they glorified the God of Israel. Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, for fear they may collapse on the way.” Mt_15:29-37
The Creator of the universe is asking you, beloved, how the needy can be satisfied. You have all the resources He has created at your disposal. How are you going to do it?
Well, maybe it’s not really ME who’s going to do it anyway. But I have to be willing to do whatever Jesus asks of me to assist in HIS doing it. Maybe it’s just giving the few loaves, or dollars, or my last scrap of clothing that will be used to multiply itself into a wardrobe or a grocery store or a bank of money available for all who need it. Jesus doesn’t ask the impossible, just our ALL! And from it we just might be astounded at what can happen!
