05-21-24 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

May 21, 2024
Jesus sat down, called the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.” Taking a child, he placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it, he said to them, “Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me.”  Mk_9:30-37

Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.  Jas_4:1-10

Maybe the hardest lesson we all need to learn in this life is humility!

Can we ever learn to place others above us?  Can we ever learn to stop trying to make ourselves be the greatest and only thing that exists in all creation?  It’s the ‘way of the world.’  And the truth of the matter is, that the harder we try, the further we get from that goal.  Jesus teaches us all Truth.  The way to the best in life is to humble ourselves and give like there’s no tomorrow!  And the very best in life is knowing that we’ve pleased God by our giving, by our humility!   So, let go and LOVE, beloved!  We will be loved beyond all capacity.  Loved, as the “Children” of God, we are!
