(Pentecost Sunday)
When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled,
they were all in one place together.
And suddenly there came from the sky
a noise like a strong driving wind,
and it filled the entire house in which they were.
Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire,
which parted and came to rest on each one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit . . . Acts 2:1-11
FILLED – with the Holy Spirit.
35-years ago today, our lives became “filled” as well, with a beautiful little baby girl, whom we named Gina. Happy Birthday Gina!
The wind and the fire, the beauty and the grace of our Lord, who fills us with his love. Blessed are those who bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit’s love. And that fruit may be in the form of the new life of others or even new life within ourselves. When we submit to His will, the will of love for God and for one another, there is no doubt that our lives will be filled with His love for us as well. Blessed is the heart open to the Lord, open to the wind and the fire of the Holy Spirit!
