03-13-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

March 13, 2016
(Fifth Sunday of Lent, C)
The LORD said through the Prophet Isaiah, “Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not; see, I am doing something new!”  Is_43:16-21

St. Paul said to the Church in Philippi, “Just one thing: forgetting what lies behind but straining forward to what lies ahead, I continue my pursuit toward the goal, the prize of God’s upward calling, in Christ Jesus.”  Phil_3:8-14

Jesus said to the angry crowd, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”  Jn_8:1-11

Hmmmm, there’s something new afoot!  It’s called MERCY!  Maybe before we’re so quick to judge others, we need to look inside our own hearts first.  Maybe instead of dwelling always on the past, we need to start looking ahead to a goal.  Don’t have a goal?  Jesus has one for us!  It’s called eternal life.  Maybe we’ll just find something new there:  Mercy, Love, Life.  Now there’s a goal worth pursuing!
