09-22-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

September 22, 2017
“the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains.

But you, man of God, avoid all this.  Instead, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.  Compete well for the faith.  Lay hold of eternal life,” 1_Tm_6:2c-12

It didn’t say that we shouldn’t have any money.  Just not to LOVE it.  Not to let it control us!  Yes, we need it to eat and have some enjoyment in life.  But if it controls us, we’ve lost what should be our overriding love – of God.  God always comes first.  Then He will take care of all of our needs, even the money!

Blessed be God forever!
And our Lord, Jesus Christ.
