09-23-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

September 23, 2017
(Saint Pius of Pietrelcina, Priest)
Jesus said, “Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it. . . .

As for the seed that fell among thorns, they are the ones who have heard (the Word), but as they go along, they are choked by the anxieties and riches and pleasures of life,”  Lk_8:4-15

Ever feel like you’re struggling to get your head above the thorns, beloved?  And with every move there’s another prick!  Ouch!  Just can seem to get ahead, because each prick brings you back down again, until you almost feel like giving up.  Well one way to keep ahead is to always remember what’s driving you back up, the sun (the Son), Jesus.  When we keep our focus on the Son, He will keep our mind off the pricks.  He will strengthen us against their evil.  And we WILL succeed against every trick that nasty devil throws to thwart us.  Jesus is our strength!  Rely on Him!  And He will shine in our lives!
